2018-2019 Update

As we enter the 15th holiday season for "Soldier Support Packages", I realize how many soldiers I have touched and the number is staggering.  This year, number will be at 50,000.  Where has the time gone?

During 2018 and into early 2019 "Soldier Support Packages" sent treat packs to the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade and continued with its support of the Special Operations Advisory Group.

As in years past, each time one brigade re-deploys, I adopt another and this year is no different.  From Spring through Fall, we sent packages to teh 1AD CAVN and now with the holidays upon us, the new brigade is the 10th Combat Aviation Brigade.  For those who do know, there is a constancy to my support -- Aviation Brigades!

Support and outreach continue to be overwhelming with people contacting me to see what I need for my treat bags.  What incredibly generous and kind people in my world of friends and family.  To those of you who have become an integral part of this project, without naming names, my heartfelt thanks for always being there.

I had the opportunity to attend Week of the Eagles at Fort Campbell this year and met of the soldiers who received packages throughout their deployment.  Their comments were heartwarming as they expressed their appreciation, telling me how much a toothbrush, toothpaste, lotion, soap, snacks and more meant to them.  The little things we take for granted mean so much when one is away from home, especially in harm's way.

The list remains the same as in years past:

Body powder/foot powder
Chap-stick
Coffee/Tea/ hot chocolate (packets)

We continue to adopt more soldiers and find that they recognize us from previous deployments and we recognize them.  As always, we ask that you keep them and their families in your thoughts and prayers.

If you are local, come down to Woods End Deli on Wood Avenue in Bridgeport on November 10 where we will honor our veterans and hold our annual Soldier Support Package Day collection.
